Our Story

From a radio store in Mombasa to East Africa's largest.

Mehta Electricals started operations in 1963 as Mehta Radio Electric Store in Mombasa, Kenya — founded by the late Dalpatrai Kalidas Mehta, and a legacy upheld over three generations.

Our Vision

To remain the region's market leader in electrical and ICT installation with total quality management — offering high-quality installation and maintenance services that ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

1963

The Beginning

Dalpatrai Kalidas Mehta founds Mehta Radio Electric Store in Mombasa, Kenya.

1985

Incorporated as Mehta Electricals Limited

Formally incorporated under the Companies Act — by then already the registered electrical contractor of choice for hotels, industry and government, coast to capital.

2000s

Regional Expansion

Operations extend into Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Seychelles, delivering embassies, airports, substations, data centres, 7-star hotels and landmark commercial projects.

2010s

The Mission-Critical Era

Mehta Electricals becomes the region's go-to contractor for data centres, geothermal power plants, commercial, industrial, gas & petroleum and high-voltage infrastructure.
